What is Restorative yoga?
Restorative Yoga is a gentle, therapeutic practice designed to support deep rest and nervous system regulation.
Using an array of props—including bolsters, blocks, blankets, straps, and eye pillows—the body is fully supported in each pose, allowing for a sense of ease and comfort.
This practice invites the body to soften gradually and the mind to quiet, creating space to unwind from the demands of daily life. By slowing down and turning inward, the body is given the opportunity to naturally restore, replenish, and heal.
Restorative Yoga is an ideal practice for those seeking stillness, recovery, and reconnection with their inner landscape.
What should I expect?
In my restorative yoga classes you will bring awareness to your breath and the sensations in your body as you prepare for deep rest.
We move mindfully through each asana (posture) holding for 4-5 minutes to give you all the time to fully relax on the provided props. In this nurturing practice I will offer (optional) hands on touch with aromatherapy oil to help you settle into the space. We finish with a long extended Savasana (comfortable resting posture) to allow space for the practice to resonate.
Classes are 60-75 mins in duration and you should dress in comfortable clothing, no experience is necessary. All mats and props supplied.
